Construction on the £70 million facility in Haddington is expected to be "handed over" on 31 August 2019.
The new East Lothian Community Hospital is built on the site of the current Roodlands Hospital in Haddington, with construction of the Hospital set to starting in October 2016.
These plans, which were being developed by NHS Lothian, East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership and Hub South East Scotland, will see a modern and purpose-built hospital developed, helping to improve the quality of care for people in East Lothian.
The project will bring together services from Roodlands and Herdmanflat onto the same site in a purpose-built hospital building.
As part of this exciting development some services will return to East Lothian and it will bring around a 60 per cent increase in inpatient beds.
Staff have formed a key role in the design layout of the new building, and have influenced the outcome of the proposed plans of their departments and location within the building.
NHS Lothian and East Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership have been working with development partner Hub South East Scotland on the project.
